JOHN MATOS CRASH
John "CRASH" Matos (b. 1961) helped carry New York subway graffiti into the gallery era, showing alongside Basquiat and Haring at Fashion Moda in the Bronx in 1980. His spray-painted canvases and prints keep the wildstyle energy of graffiti's first generation, and his work is held by MoMA and the Brooklyn Museum.
