About this work
Flowers Hand Colored (FS II.111) is a 1974 screen print hand-colored with dr. martin’s aniline watercolor dyes on Arches paper and j. green paper by Andy Warhol, measuring 40 7/8 × 27 1/4 in, from an edition of 250. Hand signed and dated in pencil on verso — the work is in excellent condition, includes a COA included.
In 1974, Warhol produced the Flowers (Hand-Colored) portfolio, along with the Flowers (Black and White) portfolio, based on images of flowers found in a wallpaper catalogue. The Flowers (Hand-Colored) series focuses on Warhol’s fascination with line drawings, similar to his work from the 1950s, which emphasizes outline more than composition
